Steve Howey

Steve Howey was born on 12 July 1977 in San Antonio, Texas, the son of director and acting coach Bill Howey. The Howey family spent several years living on boats before they eventually settled in Los Angeles, where Steve attended junior high and most of high school, before moving to Denver to complete his senior year.

Steve earned a basketball scholarship to a junior college in Colorado (he's a whopping 6ft 7ins tall), but began to lose interest in basketball in his second year and turned, instead, to drama, joining his father's acting class. In the period 1999 to 2001 Steve guest-starred in a number of TV shows, including ER and The Drew Carey Show.

He also starred in (and co-produced) the independent film Class (1998), which was written and directed by his father. Steve currently lives in Los Angeles and the TV series Reba (2001) marks his first series starring role.
