Creator of Supernatural signs new deal which may bring paranormal prequel

THE CREATOR and executive producer of cult series Supernatural has entered a two-year deal with Warner Bros TV that could see a spooky spin-off to the hit programme.

Showbiz magazine Variety said Eric Kripke had signed the exclusive deal and would continue to produce and run the show, which enters its fourth season this autumn and follows the adventures of demon-hunting brothers Sam Winchester (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles).

Kripke also will start to develop other projects. There's no details yet about whether one of the new titles might be a Supernatural spinoff, but Kripke previously said that he is interested in doing a prequel to Supernatural that takes place in the Old West and centres on the show's mythology.

Kripke spoke recently to TV Guide with some spoiler information about what's coming up in the next season. The site also reports that Jensen Ackles is on the nominations ballot for the 2008 Emmy Awards in the category of Outstanding Lead Actor in a Dramatic Series.   Ackles, 30, is currently in Pittsburgh filming horror flick My Bloody Valentine: 3D, in which he plays Tom Warden, a mentally unstable young man who returns to his home town ten years after a series of 22 brutal murders were committed and finds himself the lead suspect. The movie comes out on January 23, 2009.

Supernatural Season 4 and 5? Jensen Ackles / Jared Padalecki

My favourite subject of course is Supernatural.  So lets chat about the future.  Well Season 3 is still being shown in most countries, but its getting to the end of the Season in the US, so that means Season 4 is being talked about.

The CW recently gave Supernatural an early renewal, which means Season 4 has been confirmed and will be filmed ready for a late 2008 / Early 2009 Release, way to early to confirm dates yet.

 

As for Season 5 of Supernatural. Eric Kripke has said “Yes, there is certainly more to explore,” Kripke said.  “But we sort of have this five-year map.  And Jared and Jensen like the idea of a five-year map because we work them so hard.  It's possible, but I don't know…But a lot of these issues are beyond my control at the corporate level with ratings, etc.  But my personal feeling is that I still want to go out in year five.  It's better to go out strong and on top than to be 8 or 9 years into a piece of sh*t.  You want conclusions… you want to end it.  It's an epic story and epic stories deserve a good ending.”

Jared Padalecki / Supernatural Season 3

Been absolutely ages since we have heard anything about Season 3 of Supernatural.  I'm still enjoying the new season, I still don't like the fact the women are taking over, but its still a great program.

Supernatural Season 3 Yet Again

My favourite subject as always is Supernatural Season 3, do you know what!!! I have been neglecting it.  I only watched its once this week.  I'm bad.

Its very 'womanised' this series, which is ok but its not really why most people watch Supernatural, they watch it for Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki.

 

Season 3 was originally cut short because of the Writer's strike, well The CW have now confirmed another 4 episodes will be shot, this is good news, as their is nothing worse than cutting short a series.

 

Eric Kripke, Supernatural’s creator and executive producer, has a clear vision for its future. Jared said: “One thing Eric has always been great about is that he doesn’t keep on asking questions. He answers them.

 

Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles make the show worth watching, but if your into Sci-Fi and not just the guys you will love the show.  So if you are in the US don't forget to tune into The CW Thusdays 9c and if you are in the UK then its on ITV2 on Sundays at 9pm and repeated on ITV2 on Thursdays at 11pm.

Supernatural Season 3

Well for all you UK Supernatural fans out there, the good news is, I can give you a confirmed date and time for broadcast on ITV2.

Drum roll!!!!!!!!!

Supernatural Season 3 will be Broadcast at 9pm on Sunday's with the first of 12 episodes being broadcast on Sunday 27th 2008 at 9pm on ITV

Only 12 episodes are due to be broadcast, purely because only 12 episodes have been made due to the writers strike in America.

TV Schedules are subject to change, however ITV2 don't tend to change confirmed schedules very often.   There are currently no plans for an ITV1 broadcast, however in general it should be broadcast on ITV1 after it has finished broadcasting the complete season on ITV2.

Supernatural Season 3 / ITV2 / UK

As a big fan of Supernatural I try to keep up to date on everything Supernatural.

I was suprised to read on some fan forums and even on the official ITV forums that people think Supernatural has been cancelled in the UK.

Supernatural will be shown on ITV2, ITV have confirmed that on many occasions, they have bought the rights to show it, and are even showing 'Coming Soon' trailers for it.

So to put everyones mind at rest, Supernatural Season 3 will be shown in the UK early 2008 on ITV2.   The itv website contains out of date information on Supernatural it currently says its airing at 11pm on Fridays, its not.  Its not due to be aired till early 2008.

Supernatural Season 3 in the UK Update

People keep on asking when Season 3 will be shown in the UK, the simple answer is, I have no idea at this particular moment.  ITV still won't confirm the date and they must have an idea.

However ITV2 have been showing their winter trailers and as well as bionic woman they have also shown trailers for Supernatural Season 3, so that means its coming soon to ITV2.

They are unlikely to show it over Christmas, so it in practice means season 3 will be shown in January, and most likely early January.

ITV have not actually released full schedules so I can't give a 100% definate answer

Haven't you noticed that American actors don't tend to go shirtless unless its in Soaps, at least in the UK all hot actors get shirtless.

Even more Jensen Ackles

Well everyone seems to like Jensen Ackles at the moment, so who am I not to give you what you want.

I have lots of images of him, but I don't just post pictures, I like to chat as well, so you will get the pics when I can spare the time to write more posts.

Supernatural is getting good, I still don't like the addition of the two new female characters, but for now I can cope with them.

I was reading somewhere about how ratings may be affected by having more charactors than needed, but I think at the moment thats not a major issue, it may be in the future though.

For all you Skins fans, it will be returning in February 2008, date has not been confirmed, but channel 4 have a competition that closes at Midnight on 4th of February 2008 which allows an advance screening of the Series, which means it can't be shown till 5th February 2008 at the earliest.

Jensen Ackles

Well apparently I concentrate way too much on Jared Padalecki when I am talking about Supernatural, so here is a post just about Jensen Ackles.  (Don't worry I will be posting more on Jared, after all he is in my hot 10 list)

A few good pics of Jensen for you all, as for Supernatural its still going strong in the US, but as for UK date, ITV still have yet to confirm its Spring Schedule.

After modeling off and on since he was a young child at the age of 4, Ackles began to concentrate on an acting career in 1996. He appeared in several guest roles on Mr. Rhodes, Sweet Valley High, and Cybill before joining the cast of the NBC soap opera Days of Our Lives as Eric Brady in 1997. He won a 1998 Soap Opera Digest Award for Best Male Newcomer and went on to be nominated three times (in 1998, 1999, and 2000) for a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series for his work on Days of Our Lives.

Ackles departed Days of Our Lives in 2000 and went on to appear in the mini-series Blonde about the life of Marilyn Monroe. He also auditioned for the role as the young Clark Kent on Smallville, but it was offered to actor Tom Welling instead. After failing to land the part, he appeared in a guest role on the James Cameron television series Dark Angel on Fox in 2001 as Ben/X5-493, the psychopathic, serial killer "brother" of the main character Max/X5-452 (played by Jessica Alba). His character died in the episode, but Ackles returned to the show as a series regular in the second season as Ben's twin, Alec/X5-494. He remained with the show until its cancellation in 2002.

Ackles worked steadily throughout 2003. He joined the cast of the WB's hit show Dawson's Creek during the final season, playing CJ, Jen Lindley's lover. Afterward, Ackles filmed several episodes of the unaired series Still Life for Fox before it was abruptly dropped. He also had a small role in the 2004 short film The Plight of Clownana. Ackles was the producer's first choice to play Eliza Dushku's love interest on the second season of Tru Calling, who was coincidentally named Jensen, but Ackles returned to Vancouver (where Dark Angel was filmed) in 2004 to become a regular on Smallville instead, playing Jason Teague, the romantic interest of Lana Lang, played by Kristin Kreuk. He also had a lead role in the 2005 film Devour, where his father also had a role.

Most recently, Ackles joined the cast of the WB horror series Supernatural in 2005, where he co-stars as Dean Winchester. Dean teams with his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki) to road trip across the country investigating the paranormal while searching for their missing father John Winchester (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). The second season was picked up by The CW in 2006 for the 2006-2007 television season. The show was later renewed for a third season.

Ackles is set to appear in the 2007 film Ten Inch Hero, in which he will play the role of Priestly. He also appeared on stage from June 5-10, 2007 with Lou Diamond Phillips in A Few Good Men at Casa Mañana Theatre in Fort Worth Texas as Lt. Daniel Kaffee. This marked the first time Jensen Ackles has performed in a live theatre setting outside of high school.

TVGuide.com: You're really switching gears for your next movie, aren't you?
Jared Padalecki: Oh yeah. I've gone from a thriller/sci-fi/horror television show to a Christmas movie, which is about a complete 180, but that was part of the appeal — to see if after 44 episodes of the show, I could go back and do something completely different. It was so fun.
TVGuide.com: You play the massively successful artist Thomas Kinkade, whose work I find a little eerie, truthfully.
Padalecki: [Laughs] He's the best-selling artist in the world. The movie is called Home for Christmas, and it's about his early years when he started painting to save his mom's house. It's been optioned as a trilogy.
TVGuide.com: Have you ever been to one of his galleries?
Padalecki: There was one where I grew up in San Antonio, and I went to a number after I booked the role.

TVGuide.com: My theory is that there's some kind of demonic energy that makes you buy his art.
Padalecki: [Laughs] There might be. The movie's got a brilliant cast: Peter O'Toole, Marcia Gay Harden, Charlotte Rae, Chris Elliott and Ed Asner. When I read the script, to me it was just a feel-good Christmas movie that teaches a lesson about love and togetherness. But then [when] I got the role and the director said he was looking at Peter O'Toole for my mentor and Marcia Gay Harden for my mother, it became surreal. What a brilliant opportunity to work with actors that I've long idolized.
TVGuide.com: Could you actually talk to the legendary O'Toole?
Padalecki: Peter is exactly how you would expect he would be and exactly how you would hope he would be. He's obviously very wise, confident and passionate, and he's still very funny and sharp. He doesn't want special Peter O'Toole treatment like, "Nobody talk to me, nobody knock on my trailer door." He initiated conversation between takes. It was amazing. I mean, he was Lawrence of Arabia!
TVGuide.com: So this season's Thursday-night 9 pm slot might be one of TV's toughest time slots ever.
Padalecki: It hasn't been easy. Since Day 1 we've had insane competition, and it's clear that it's not going to get any easier for us. But we do have a very loyal audience and we're inspired to keep creating the best show that we can because of it. We always use the analogy that we feel like a very, very talented lightweight entering the ring with the heavyweights. I'm the best in my division, but I'm getting in the ring with Muhammad Ali. Unfortunately, we're up against some huge monsters. I don't think there has ever been a time slot where the No. 1 and the No. 2 shows are on at the same time. So I do the best that I can do and I hope it's well received, but whatever happens happens.

TVGuide.com: What's the biggest difference between playing Dean on Gilmore Girls and Dean's brother on Supernatural?
Padalecki: I definitely have more guys coming up to me talking about Supernatural than about Gilmore Girls. [Laughs] This is definitely more of a cult following. The fans of Supernatural are much more intense than the fans of Gilmore Girls. Fans of Supernatural can name how we killed each demon while the fans of Gilmore Girls enjoy a storyline. On this show, they quiz me! "Oh yeah, what about the time ya'll went to Missouri and killed a shape-shifter, how you had to…. " Wow, they really know their stuff.

TVGuide.com: What do you do in the few hours you're not working?
Padalecki: I'm not a big "going out" kind of guy. I'd rather stay at home and order pizza and watch a football game, play with my dogs, and then go out and go drinking. But every now and again Sandy and I will go out and get a bite to eat, or Jensen and I will go out to a movie or play a game of golf. But for the most part I'm just not into that, I'd much rather play guitar and go to a bar — I rhymed!
TVGuide.com: Yeah, you're a poet and you don't know it.
Padalecki: Oh, that's good.

TVGuide.com: Don't you see enough of Jensen on set?
Padalecki: Not at all. We're really good buddies and that's been probably the best thing about Supernatural. In the last three years of my life, I've spent more time with Jensen Ackles than with any other human being and vice versa. Luckily, we get along really well and we are very similar guys. We're both from Texas, we both love our families, the same kind of music, and the Dallas Cowboys. It's been a huge blessing to work with somebody who is easygoing on set and who I'm friends with.

TVGuide.com: We know he creams you at golf — what do you best him at?
Padalecki: Guitar Hero the video game, and basketball. I've got an unfair advantage. [Laughs]

Supernatural Season 3 / Season 3 in the UK

Season 3 is progressing well in the US and is now being shown in a number of countries. 

I keep reading about when it will be shown in the UK and keep hearing different things, so I just emails ITV myself to find the correct answer.  Heres the answer I received from them today : 

We do not have confirmed schedule dates for series 3 at this moment in time but it will be advertised well before the
Series starting.

So as you can see no series start date for the UK yet.  But nevermind enjoy the pictures taken from Season 3.

Season 3 apparantly features more love interests for the boys, I don't know if thats good or bad, but I suppose it will mean more flesh.

 

Supernatural Season 3 Trailer and Updates

I decided against posting spoilers, too many web sites have already done so, so lets just keep WhenOnlyHotWillDo about hot men and nothing else.

Jared and Jensen look excellent in Season 3 which is to be expected, still not sure about the addition of two new female cast members, but we shall be seeing a bit more flesh from both boys apparently which is definitely a good thing.  

Supernatural Season 3 Update

Well there is still no firm date for the showing of Supernatural Season 3 in the UK, however ITV1 is currently showing re-runs of season 2 on Friday nights at 11pm.

ITV has confirmed the purchase of rights to Season 3 of Supernatural, and also Season 4 if there is going to be a season 4. 

Season 3 will be shown on ITV2 with re-runs later on in 2008 on ITV1, due to ITV1 currently showing Season 2, its fairly certain that Season 3 won't be shown until the season 2 showings have finished.  ITV1 is currently showing episode 9, there's 22 episodes, so in theory season 3 will not be shown on ITV2 for at least 13 weeks which makes it around the beginning of December 2008.

Season 3 will be shown on The CW with the season premier on Thursday October 4th (9/8c)

Trivia Time : Jared Padalecki

I decided it was time for a new feature and that's trivia time.  Basically it will give you bits and pieces of information about some of the hottest stars, the information that can be found on the net but not normally in the same place.

I will start of the Trivia with Jared Padalecki of course, he's hot and well there's so many interesting things about him, that I am going to have to be selective about what Trivia I include here.

Jared likes cheeseburgers with lettuce, tomato, and mustard. He also likes chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream. He likes white-chocolate macadamia nut cookies and admittedly eats a lot of candy

Michelle Branch: (on her video Everywhere) I'm a huge fan of the Gilmore Girls and so when we were going to do the video, I was trying to get the guy Jared Padalecki to be in my video, but he was off shooting, so we didn't get it.

While filming the movie The Flight of the Phoenix Jared was in a minor car accident, after which he looked around and thought he was dead. He told himself "I had better call production and tell them I'm dead." He apparently continued to think he was dead until someone passed by and asked him why he was standing on the side of the road.

Jared freaked when he was told they wanted to cover him with wax for real on the movie House Of Wax. Jared spent ages complaining to everyone who would listen that he didn't want to do it. Before eventually caving in and doing it anyway. Later he said that it wasn't as bad as he thought it would be!

Jared filmed the Supernatural episode "Dead in the Water" with a broken hand after he injured it defending himself and Jensen in a fight.

Jared has two dogs. Their names are Harley and Sadie.

Jared's celebrity crush is Jennifer Love Hewitt.

Jared is hoping to turn the book Back Roads by Tawni O'Dell into a movie.

Jared played on the Hollywood Knights' basketball team for the 2001-2002 season.

The new season of Supernatural is due to start Thursday October 4th on The CW in the US, no dates yet for ITV showings.

The thrilling and terrifying journey of the Winchester Brothers continues with the second season of SUPERNATURAL on The CW.

Sam, however, wanted nothing to do with this violent and dangerous life, and he left it behind until the day Dean appeared on his doorstep with troubling news. Their father had gone missing on a "hunting trip."

Sam and Dean have spent the last year cruising the highways of the United States in their 1967 Chevy Impala, searching for their lost father. Well considering yesterday I posted some pictures of Jared Padalecki I thought today I would post his counterpart Jensen Ackles. Jensen Ackles has been in many shows and films, including Dark Angel, Smallville, Devour, Days of our Lives to name just a few. He is currently staring alongside Jared Padelecki in the hit CW Supernatural as Dean Winchester.

Today's hottie is Jared Padalecki, better known as portraying Sam Winchester in the hit TV show supernatural, and has made many film and TV appearances.  He is one guy that is hot without even making the effort.

Besides playing Sam Winchester on the hit CW series, Padalecki also starred in the fright flicks HOUSE OF WAX and CRY WOLF

 

Jared is actually also a good actor, for those of you that have not seen Supernatural where have you been ?
