Russell Howard

Known to millions as a panelist on BBC Two's Mock The Week, Russell has been a regular guest on Never Mind the Buzzcock's (BBC Two) and Would I Lie To You? (BBC One) along with hosting Comedy Central's Edinburgh and Beyond and twice appearing on Live at the Apollo (BBC One). In 2009 Russell brought his unique take on the world to BBC Three with Russell Howard's Good News – the channel first topical comedy show.

But it is on stage where Russell really storms it. Three previous tours Wandering (2006/7), Adventures (2007/8) and Dingledodies (2008/9) have all completely sold out including three nights at the Hammersmith Apollo and a huge show at Wembley Arena. In 2009 Russell embarks on his Big Rooms and Belly Laughs Arena tour playing 10 of his largest gigs so far.

'A robust antidote to the depressive, recessionary mood of the moment … Right now, he's flying' The Telegraph

'Probably the best of a new generation of comics. His mind is as sharp as a witch's nose and gags flow from him with the ease and Majesty of the river Nile' Time Out

Lee Ryan was taken away by the police last night...

lee ryan

Lee Ryan was searched and detailed by plain-clothed police officers last night outside the May Fair Hotel in central London. The former Blue member was approached as he left the premises and then taken to a waiting police car. Looking visibly worried, Lee clasped his hands over his face as he was driven away. No official word has yet been given as to why he was detained, but we will of course bring you any details as soon as we get them. Oh dear. It's been one hell of a week for Lee Ryan, hasn't it?

The heat Readers' Torso 2009 has arrived!

As it's only now 37 days until Christmas (yep, believe it), we're doing our best not to dwell on where the hell the past year has gone and focus instead on all the good things about this time of year. Mulled wine, New Moon out in cinemas, mince pies being an acceptable breakfast food and the heat Readers' Torso. Yep, it's that time of year again where we offer one studly hunk of a man the chance to appear in the bumper Christmas issue of heat magazine, and all he has to do is show us his yummy body. If you know someone whose torso is good enough to show off to the heat-reading world, then take a snap of the lucky fella with his shirt off and holding a copy of heat (with his permission, obvs) and send it to us.

As we've done in previous years, all the Torsos we select will be entered into a daily poll on heatworld, where users can vote for who they want to go through. After lots of Torsos and lots more votes, the winner will be crowned heat Readers' Torso Of The Week and get their sexy selves in the Christmas issue of heat! We for one are very excited about this, so please don't keep us waiting too long! Send your Torsos (remember to ask permission, and get said fella to pose with a copy of heat) to marked "Torso". All entrants must be over 18, and really really fit. Understood?
